(H. R. Derasari) and a teacher of the premier pharmacy institute L. M. College of Pharmacy (Dr. T. P. Gandhi) in 1974.

There are several distinguished features unique to this book.
First, there is a mention of some pioneering pharmacologists in the beginning of each section with their profiles and milestones of the reflecting history of pharmacology and more pharmacologists.
Second, chemical structures and at places the structure-activity relationship has been given in may chapters. This is particularly essential because a student of pharmacy, studies medicinal chemistry as one of the subjects.
Third, trade names of some popular products alongwith the name of the company have been given at the end of each chapter.
Pharmacology is a fast developing science and recently many new concepts have emerged. Each chapter is revised every time keeping in view the new developments. Extensive but precise information has been added on ACE inhibitors, 5-HT receptor modulators, calcium channel blockers, imidazole receptor agonists, insulin sensitizers, H. pylori infection etc.
