We all know that government’s financial operations are well-high impossible without taxation. Apart from this, taxation can be a powerful medium in order to achieve the goals of social progress and the objectives of economic development.

Moreover, taxation can also be used to reduce inequities and inequalities in wealth and income by progressively higher taxes as in the case of income and estimate tax.

Components

The syllabus of Gujarat University for T.Y.BBA includes almost the whole of income tax. We have great pleasure and pride in presenting this treatise on the subject of “Direct Tax“.

The illustrations have been carefully selected to explain important provisions as far as income tax is concerned.

All the provisions of the income tax act with latest provisions of Finance Act,2015 with the latest notifications, and clarifications issued by Finance Ministry and CBDT have been carefully studied and incorporated in the book.

Objective

We have tried to discuss the said topics in a simple language. Review exercises at the end of each chapter.We hope this would help the students in their preparations for examinations.
